Exclusive Look: The Golf Yards - Ballston's New Indoor Golf Training Center with Country Club Vibes (2026)

Ready to elevate your golf game, rain or shine? A brand-new, cutting-edge indoor golf training center is set to open its doors in the Ballston area, promising a year-round haven for golf enthusiasts of all levels.

Located inside Three Ballston Plaza (1100 N. Glebe Road), The Golf Yards (a membership-only facility) is designed to provide golfers with a top-tier training experience. The facility, aiming for an early April launch, will feature state-of-the-art golfing simulators, a sand bunker, and expert coaching. Founder David Stillman envisions the space as an integral part of members' weekly routines, offering a comprehensive experience with offices, a lounge, and a gym, in addition to a 600-square-foot cutting mat and a 2,000-square-foot short gaming area.

"Our focus is literally just on the performance aspect and the improvement aspect of golf," Stillman emphasized.

Spanning nearly 13,000 square feet, The Golf Yards aims to attract individuals eager to hone their skills throughout the year, regardless of the weather. Membership options include individual plans at $299 per month (plus a $1,000 initiation fee) and family plans at $349 per month (plus a $1,500 initiation fee). Stillman describes the atmosphere as having "a very high-end, sort of indoor country club vibe."

"[If] it’s too hot, it’s too cold, it’s raining, it’s snowing, it’s too windy, you name it, you’re going to come here and get better," he added.

But here's where it gets controversial... Unlike some facilities that offer food and beverages, The Golf Yards is laser-focused on serious improvement, catering to both seasoned players and beginners.

"Any of those people are going to be welcome and excited to be here, because there’s going to be programs and facilities for essentially any level of golfer," Stillman stated. The facility has partnered with Peak Golf Institute and will also provide members with Technogym and OxeFit gym equipment, helping them "improve how their body moves, how their swing functions, and how their game holds up long-term."

Stillman's ambition extends beyond individual golfers, aiming to foster a community environment where everyone, from novices to experts, can connect, learn, and enjoy the sport. The Golf Yards already has a waitlist of 150 people, a testament to the local demand for year-round golf training.

"There is a need and interest and excitement in year-round, 24/7, 365 golf," Stillman concluded.

What do you think? Will this new approach to golf training resonate with players in the Ballston area? Do you think the focus on performance, without the added amenities of food and drinks, is a winning strategy? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
